Licensed Residential Electricians Since 1995

Fort Myers Electrical Contractor Serving Southwest Florida

Mabry Brothers is a family owned electrical contractor based in Fort Myers, licensed in Florida under EC13006459. We have worked in this market since 1995, and the majority of our electrical work is new construction and remodel projects for homes across Lee and Collier County.

That construction background shapes everything else we do. An electrician who spends most of their time wiring homes from the studs out understands a residential electrical system as a whole rather than as a series of isolated service calls, and that perspective carries into every panel replacement, repair, and lighting project we take on.

We serve homeowners in Fort Myers, Estero, Bonita Springs, Naples, Sanibel Island, and Captiva Island, with 24 hour availability for genuine electrical emergencies. Whether you are building, renovating, or dealing with something that stopped working this morning, we would welcome the opportunity to earn your business.

What a Licensed Contractor Is Responsible For

What to Look for in a Residential Electrical Contractor

Electrical work is largely invisible once it is finished, which puts most of the burden of judgment on the homeowner before the work begins rather than after. The visible result of a good installation and a poor one is identical for the first several years. What separates them is licensing, whether permits were pulled, whether the work was inspected, and whether the contractor sized things based on calculation or on habit.

Florida requires electrical contractors to be licensed at the state or county level, and the license number should be on the truck, the proposal, and the permit. Beyond licensing, the questions worth asking are practical ones. Does the contractor pull permits as a matter of course or only when required to. Do they perform a load calculation before recommending a service size. Will the same crew that quoted the work perform it. And have they been in the market long enough that their reputation is something they cannot walk away from.

A few things are worth verifying before you hire anyone to work on your home’s electrical system. Ask for the Florida license number and check it, which takes about two minutes and eliminates an entire category of problem. Ask whether the contractor pulls permits as standard practice, since panels, rewiring, new circuits, and EV charging all require them in Lee and Collier County, and work done without one causes real problems at resale and in insurance claims. Ask whether service sizing comes from a load calculation specific to your home or from a default applied to every job. And look for a contractor with enough history in this market that their reputation is not something they could simply walk away from.

Residential Electrical Services We Provide

We handle residential electrical work across Southwest Florida, from a single service call to the full electrical scope of a custom home. New construction and remodels are the core of the business, and the same licensed electricians who wire homes from the studs out handle the service work as well.

New Construction Electrical

New construction is our core business and has been since 1995. We handle the full electrical scope: service and panel design, rough in, lighting layout, device installation, low voltage provisions, trim out, and inspection coordination with the builder’s schedule.

Remodels and Renovations

Remodel electrical work means integrating new work into an existing system whose history is unknown. We evaluate what is there, bring the affected areas to current code, and sequence our work around the other trades on the project.

Electrical Panels and Service Upgrades

Panel replacement, service capacity upgrades, sub panels, fuse box replacement, and breaker work, including the load calculation, permitting, and utility coordination that a service change requires.

Electrical Repair and Troubleshooting

Diagnosis first, then repair. We trace faults to their actual origin rather than replacing the component where the symptom appeared, which is why our repairs generally do not bring us back to the same address for the same problem.

Lighting Installation and Design

Fixture installation, recessed lighting, retrofits, under cabinet and accent lighting, and outdoor and landscape fixtures, along with custom control systems for homeowners who want it.

Emergency Electrical Service

Genuine electrical emergencies do not wait for business hours. We respond around the clock to power loss, burning odors, sparking devices, panel failures, and storm related electrical damage.

Why Work With Mabry Brothers as Your Electrical Contractor?

Mabry Brothers started in 1995 and added HVAC in 1998, and we have operated as a family owned business in Fort Myers the entire time. That continuity is the practical reason to work with us. Three decades in one market means the homes we wired in the late 1990s are homes we still service, and it means the standards we hold on work nobody will ever see are the same ones we held then.

Running both trades also produces a perspective most electrical contractors do not have. We wire the circuits that feed the air conditioning equipment we service, so we know what that equipment actually draws, what surge damage does to it, and how electrical and mechanical decisions affect each other during construction. On a new build or a substantial renovation, having both scopes handled by one contractor removes an entire category of coordination problem.

Communities We Serve as an Electrical Contractor

We have worked across the same six communities for three decades, and the nature of the work in each one has changed considerably over that time. Here is where our work stands today in each.

Fort Myers

Fort Myers is home, and it is where our work is most varied. Our office sits on Halifax Avenue, and our Fort Myers work spans everything from service calls in mid century neighborhoods to full electrical scopes on new custom homes. The city’s mix of housing eras means our Fort Myers crews see original 1960s services and current code new construction in the same week, which is a large part of why they are as versatile as they are.

Estero

Estero has been one of the fastest changing parts of our territory. We have wired new construction here through successive waves of development, and now much of our Estero work is second generation: adding capacity, wiring outdoor living spaces, and updating homes we or others built twenty years ago to support demands that did not exist when they were designed.

Bonita Springs

Bonita Springs gives us the full range in a compact area. We handle renovation electrical on older homes near Old 41 and the beach, new construction and remodel work in the eastern communities, and a substantial volume of storm recovery work throughout. The proximity of very different housing stock in one market keeps our Bonita work varied.

Naples

Naples is where our new construction and renovation work is most involved. Custom homes here carry extensive electrical scopes: multiple sub panels, detached structures, comprehensive lighting design, outdoor kitchens, pool and spa automation, and integration with systems specified by designers and other trades. These projects reward a contractor who is comfortable coordinating rather than just installing.

Sanibel Island

Sanibel has been part of our service area for decades, and our island work changed substantially after Hurricane Ian. A significant portion of what we do on Sanibel now is rebuilding and restoring electrical systems on homes affected by the storm, alongside the corrosion driven service and repair work that island properties have always required.

Captiva Island

Captiva work requires planning that mainland work does not, from material staging to scheduling around access. We have served the island for years and we quote and sequence island projects with those realities built in. Most of our Captiva work is renovation, restoration, and service on properties that see seasonal occupancy and severe coastal exposure.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Electrical Services
